  Pinochle is actually derived from a German variety of
  Bezique called Binokel, which means "eyeglasses" or "two-eyes".
  
  For example, a meld of four Aces is worth 100 points, while
  a meld of five Aces is worth 250 points. Each meld has a point value, and the
  more valuable the meld, the more points you can score. Communication is key in Pinochle, and it is
  important to work with your partner to develop a strategy.
  
  Counters are valued at 10 points apiece, while losers are worth nothing.
  One aim of the game is to win as many counters as possible in your tricks.
  The last trick is worth an additional 10 points, so the total number of
  points available to be won in each hand is 250.
  "Yes" means the declarer must have a marriage or better in trump or

  The game of Pinochle originated about 150 years ago and derives from the German game
  of "Binokle" (or in the French "Binochle"). This refers
  to a myth that the German game was invented from a special deck of cards where the Queen of Spades
  and Jack of Diamonds were portraited in profile, revealing one eye each.
  
  The pinochle combination of the Queen and Jack therefore gives us two eyes.
  In the 19th century, Pinochle was brought from Europe to
  America by German immigrants.
  Pinochle is a classic card game that has been enjoyed for centuries, with
  a rich and varied history. Originating in Germany, the game has evolved and
  spread throughout Europe and the United States, with different variations and rule sets emerging along the way.
  The game’s popularity has led to it being played in both casual and competitive settings,
  with tournaments being held around the world.
  Another version of this, known as "shooting the moon," can be called out by the highest bidder before melding.
  In this variation, neither team lays their meld down, and the partner of the high bidder does not
  participate in trick taking.
  Only when a player has no cards in suit, and has no trump, can the player choose to play any card
  in their hand. In playing cards for tricks, there are
  strict rules of forced play, which limit a player's ability to
  strategically retain high cards. Then there are two variations of following suit depending if you are
  playing post-1945 or pre-1945 rules. After the
  cards are dealt, players bid on the strength of their hands, with the
  highest bidder earning the right to name the
  trump suit. Auction Pinochle adds another layer of complexity and strategy to the game.
  
  That way, you are placed at a table with matching players.
  
  Once you sit at a table at the Palace, you automatically
  collect experience points which enable you to level up gradually.
  Learning Pinochle might seem like a challenge
  at first, but with practice, you'll find yourself mastering
  it in no time.
  One player from each team is assigned to hold the chips at the start and pass them to partner as points are
  scored. At the conclusion of each hand one colored chip for each
  hundred points won and one white chip for each ten points won is passed across
  to the partner. The first side to pass all chips to
  the opposite side of the table wins. The point value of the
  discards can sometimes be added to the bid winner's total trick count or not, depending on the pre-established rules.
  
  In three player games the 6 card kitty can often lead to very competitive and extravagant bidding.
  
  After both players have melded, the game moves on to trick-taking.
  The player who won the last trick leads the next trick by playing any card from their
  hand.
